EXAMPLE OF BAD PAGE OF TEXT

A really BAD sample text page

Student reading book.
This sheet has far too much to read in a short time. There is a small graph and too many different type fonts to deal with.

**Teacher & parent note: Have your child ignore this page and use another book. This design has a very POOR layout!

Spelling word for today: Confusion
Typically, most textbooks have
far too many colors, borders, designs, pictures and even different type sizes and fonts. This can be very distracting, and it can visually confuse children. When there are too many tasks for special learning children to do on one page, they are overwhelmed and typically make more mistakes. Probably regular learners have trouble as well!

You can see how book pages can be unsuited for children who have special needs. Please use some wisdom in the books you pick for them.
